SRX8326934: NGS of evolved T3 phage variants
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 4000) run: 1.7M spots, 456.3M bases, 87.3Mb downloads

Design: T3 phage subjected to consecutive rounds of chemical mutagenesis, and heat-selection. Each generation was amplified by inoculation of E.coli. Genomes were purified using phenol-chloroform extraction.

Study: Directed evolution of T3 and T7 bacteriophages for improved thermostability.
show Abstracthide Abstract
The goals of this project are to use a novel directed evolution technique to optimize the thermostability of bacteriophages, such to improve their efficacy as antimicrobial agents. This project tracks the emergence of mutations across the genomes of the T3 and T7 bacteriophages in order to correlate such changes with improvements in their tolerance to high temperature conditions.
Sample: T3 phage, mutagenesis series 2, iteration 0
